Haha, I was just about to ask whether TBR was Y&B's resident Jack Riewoldt!

Just looking at the NAB Cup ladder and the interesting thing to me is the points for and against column. Only two teams so far have scored more than us over the two game-lets - West Coast and Hawthorn. So, out of the 12 teams to play so far, we're the third best at scoring. The problem is that we conceded more points than everyone except Essendon and North Melbourne - third worst in defending.
That's a worry. It's also not a surprise of course. We know that our back line is our weak point and Rance and Grimes looked a bit rusty on Friday. Also, although I haven't found the stats for this anywhere, I'm pretty sure from the radio coverage on the night, that we lost the centre clearances by a significant margin in both matches.
The one hopeful factor in this is that we split our midfield between the two matches, thereby halving our clearance capacity. Here's hoping for a major improvement in this for the remaining matches and, maybe, without the ball coming their way so often, our backline won't look as shaky.

At this stage after tonights games we are 7th on the ladder.
Only West Coast and Collingwood have won 2 games. Unfortunately I'd expect Carlton to win both tomorrow.

    Massive worry.

That would have been the major focus over the pre season (or should have been) and you would have liked to see it emphasised in our first hit out after that.

I know it was early in the season the other night but there seemed to be a few recurring themes that just have to be addressed if we are going to progress.

If anybody's wondering when our next game is (like I was), it's this Sunday, March 4, against Fremantle, in WA and if you have Foxtel it's on at 8pm Melbourne time.

    Cheers!
    Ms Tantie.
